Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) are a little more intensive than IOPs. At this level of care, clients attend the program daily (typically Monday through Friday). They may stay at the facility all day long at first. Eventually, they may need less time there each day.
PHPs involve therapy and medication management services. They work very well for people who no longer need inpatient, but for whom IOPs might not be a good fit.
Outpatient Therapy
Outpatient treatment and therapy are usually reserved for people who need less supervision and care. Clients may see their therapist 1-3 times per week at this level.
This is generally not the right type of care for someone new to recovery.
Sober Living Homes
Sober living homes provide a safe place to stay for people who are in recovery. Residents have to pay rent, attend treatment, stay clean and sober, and contribute to the home in some way.
