About Peace Valley Recovery
We have worked with many clients from the Newark area.
Peace Valley Recovery is located about an hour and a half from Newark in Doylestown, PA.
Our Treatment Facility
At Peace Valley Recovery, we believe that due to the chaotic nature of substance abuse, our clients should experience exactly the opposite when they come to our campus.
A quick walk through our grounds will show you how serene, calm, and tranquil our facility is. We strive to make it a warm and welcoming place where clients and their families feel cared for and supported.
We believe you should feel comfortable while you’re with us. Our treatment environment has a homelike atmosphere to help you focus on working on your recovery goals.

Meet Dr. Elizabeth Drew

Treatment at Peace Valley Recovery
We offer outpatient drug and alcohol rehab services to our clients. We understand that every client who comes to us for help has their own needs.
Our treatment team will recommend one of two programs for you based on where you are in your recovery journey.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
It can be challenging to complete a residential treatment program and go back to your regular daily activities.
Our PHP is designed to help with that transition by offering a higher level of care while allowing you to live at home.
Our program is highly structured and you’ll have a targeted treatment plan focused on helping you achieve your recovery goals. Here’s what you can expect:
- A 5-day-a-week rehab program that meets for 6 hours each day.
- Individual therapy sessions twice a week.
- Daily group therapy sessions.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP is less structured and intensive than PHP and is often the right fit for clients following residential rehab.
Intensive outpatient offers the flexibility many clients need as they transition back to their normal schedules. This level of care includes:
- The option to attend an evening program if you attend school or work during the day.
- Programming for either 3 or 5 days per week, 3 hours per day.
- Case management support.
- Group therapy either 3 or 5 days a week.
- Individual therapy once per week.
Therapy Participation
Because each client receives their own personalized treatment plan, the therapy you receive is designed to meet your needs.
Our therapists are extensively trained in evidence-based therapy methods. Depending on where you are in your recovery journey, we may recommend any of these options.
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Family therapy
- Dual diagnosis treatment
- EMDR
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
- Holistic therapies, such as art, music, and Yoga
Sober Living Options
Many of our clients in Newark prefer to drive to our facility for their appointments. But we know that for some, the commute presents a hardship.
Candor House is an upscale, highly supportive sober living home located in Bucks County near our facility. We are in partnership with Candor House to offer our clients a therapeutic recovery housing option.
We’ve found that for many of our clients, sober living is exactly what they need as they continue in recovery. If you think you might be interested, please talk with us about Candor House.
We Accept Health Insurance
We talk with clients every day who have concerns about how they will pay for drug and alcohol rehab. We know it can be expensive, and we want to make it as affordable for you as possible.
Peace Valley Recovery is in-network with many of the most popular and common health insurance providers in the area.
Several of our clients find that their outpatient treatment programs are covered in full, and for others, their out-of-pocket costs are minimal.
Please don’t let costs stop you from getting the help you need. Talk with our admissions team and ask them to verify your insurance. They will work hard to maximize your benefits.

SMART Recovery Meetings in and Around Newark
Inpatient Detox and Rehab
If you are new to recovery and you have never received treatment before, inpatient detox and rehab is the best place to start.
Detoxing will help you stop using substances by lessening withdrawal severity and duration. It also makes it easier to remain in recovery long-term.
Rehab focuses on the reasons you began using substances. It allows you to work through the issues that led to your addiction and equips you to work through any mental health challenges you may be facing.
Outpatient Treatment
There are many therapists in Newark that specialize in working with clients with substance abuse issues. Outpatient therapy offers you greater flexibility than IOP, and you may have appointments 1-3 times per week.
This may not be the best option for you if you have never had any addiction treatment at all. It is not intended for people who are new to recovery.
But if you have a solid support system at home, and you’ve done well with the healing process, this may be something to consider.
Peace Valley Recovery is There for You
