Professional Care Near New York
Unfortunately, most people who struggle with addiction require professional help to recover. There are different levels of care available to people who need help.
During our intake process, we will discuss your needs and see if the programs at Peace Valley Recovery are a good fit for you. If they aren’t and you require a higher level of care, we will help you connect with those resources.
Drug and Alcohol Detox and Inpatient Treatment
Detox and inpatient treatment are often the beginning of addiction recovery.
Drug detox is the process where all of a substance empties out of a person’s body. This can cause withdrawal symptoms. It is a difficult process to go through.
When you or someone you love goes to an inpatient treatment program, you, or they, will stay at the treatment center twenty-four hours a day. This type of program lasts 28 days.
In the program, patients will attend therapy and can have medical treatment to help handle withdrawal symptoms.
If you’re in NYC and need to detox, contact us today.
Partial Hospitalization Programs
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is less intense than an inpatient program, but still includes 5 days of programs each week. These programs are best for someone who has already finished an inpatient program but still needs a high level of care.
At Peace Valley Recovery, we have a top of the line partial hospitalization program to meet your needs. It includes a variety of group and individual therapy options. Patients can drive home after the sessions or stay at a nearby sober living house.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are a step below PHPs. These programs run 3 hours per session, 3-5 days per week.
This is a great choice for someone who has school or works during the daytime hours. There is also the option of staying at a sober living home while attending intensive outpatient therapy.
Sober Living Homes in Your Area
A sober living home is a residence where people who are in addiction recovery stay when they are not quite ready to live at home yet. Sober living homes have rules to follow, and no drugs or alcohol are allowed at the house.
At Peace Valley Recovery, we work with Candor House, a sober living house in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Types of Therapies Available
Whether you participate in our PHP or IOP, you will experience a robust program of therapies that are personalized to your unique situation. At Peace Valley Recovery, we provide a variety of programs to support the well-being of the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most extensively researched and successful forms of therapy available. It examines the relationship between negative thoughts and actions.
In our programs, you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and how they contribute to your behavior. This type of therapy can be conducted in an individual or group setting.
Individual therapy gives you one-on-one time with a mental health professional to discuss your challenges. Group therapy is an excellent opportunity to receive support from others facing similar challenges.
Family Therapy
Having the support of your friends and family during recovery and beyond is important for success. Our program involves your loved ones to participate if they are able.
During family therapy, our therapists work to resolve conflicts in your most important relationships that may have occurred as a result of addiction. We provide families with strategies and techniques to improve communication and foster trust-building.
Family engagement is an important pillar of any recovery program.
Music Therapy
Beyond traditional therapies, Peace Valley Recovery uses alternative types of therapies that are well-supported by research. Music therapy involves listening to or producing music.
Music has the ability to have profound mental health effects including improving mood and helping to process negative emotions.
Music therapy can also be a social activity, allowing for another opportunity to feel connected with others.
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is another experiential therapy that supports overall well-being. Not only is yoga a healthy form of exercise, the practice of yoga helps promote mindfulness.
Yoga is shown to promote relaxation and achieve a state of peacefulness. It also reduces stress.
EMDR
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is available to people near New York City who may be suffering from traumatic memories.
This type of therapy may be used in your treatment program if you suffer from PTSD. During this type of therapy, eye movements, physical taps, and audio tones may be used to promote and then process past experiences.
Multiple sessions occur over several weeks.
Medication Assisted Treatment
Depending on your situation, medication assisted treatment may be right for you. With medication assisted treatment, prescription medications are used to relieve withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings.
They are most commonly used to treat opioid addiction. The medications are prescribed and patients are carefully monitored for effectiveness.
Our health professionals determine the need for medication assisted treatment on a case-by-case basis.
The Cost of Treatment
No one should ever avoid seeking treatment because of costs. Peace Valley Recovery works with you to use your insurance coverage to pay for the cost of treatment.
Insurance plans vary but most offer benefits for drug and alcohol rehab. Generally, IOPs and PHPs are less expensive than inpatient programs. We will help you determine your out-of-pocket costs upfront so there are no surprises.
If you do not have insurance, Peace Valley Recovery offers a scholarship program to help those individuals pay for care.
There are also government programs that can provide funding for care. We will review all of the options available to you.
